started practicing traditional internal martial arts since seven years old, including Yanqing Lost Track Fist (Mizong Quan), Joint Lock Techniques (Chin Na), Eighteen Falls, Ba Gua Stake Exercise, Energy Enriching Qigong (Pei Yuan Gong), Eight Silken Movements (Baduanjin), Hunyuan Standing, and Chen-style Tai Chi Fist (Tai Chi Quan). Later, SHI Yanxing joined Shaolin Temple in Mount Song, the original temple of Zen Buddhism, to practice meditation and Kung Fu for self-cultivation. He has acquired profound understanding of Shaolin life-nourishing internal qigong and life-prolonging methods as well as acupuncture, meridian physiotherapy and acupoint finger-pressing therapy in traditional Chinese medicine.
SHI Yanxing, who joined the Shaolin Guard in 1986 and the Martial Monk Group in 1987, has visited foreign countries many times with the Group for performance to develop and promote Zenist Martial Spirit. In May 2000, SHI Yanxing led the Martial Monk Group to Beijing for rehearsing the large-scale stage play Shaolin Glamour, and won great success. In mid of May 2000, they also took part in the Special Olympics Centurial Trip—a charity event for helping the disabled held in Great Hall of the People by Schwarzenegger—the Ambassador of Peace and Mr. Deng Pufang—Chairman of China Disabled Persons’ Federation, and conducted a large performance which received high evaluation and praise from central government leaders and the people from all walks of life. SHI Yanxing received an exclusive interview from Phoenix TV of Hong Kong and the event was reported by many media such as CCTV, BTV and China News Service. In September 2000, SHI Yanxing led the Martial Monk Group to Japan, America and Canada for performance. In 2006, he went to Russia to open martial club and accept disciples to spread and carry forward Chinese traditional cultures, which made a contribution in introducing the culture to the world.
SHI Hengjiao, a Shandong native, born in 1978, with ZHI Hai as assumed name, is one of the 35th generation disciples and the inner chamber follower of SHI Yanxing, one of the 34th generation Shaolin Martial Monks, and is fascinated in Chinese traditional cultures of martial arts.
